Note: This post is tested/valid as of Oct 2023 for TradeStation 10.x. It may continue to be valid for future TradeStation releases as well.

When TradeStation is closed by choosing the File-Exit menu option, the visible programs (desktops, workspaces) are closed. However, some of the background processes continue to run. If you wanted to close all those processes, you could run this BAT file aptly named KillTS.BAT.

Once the KillTS.BAT file is run, it closes all TradeStation background processes.

As of this post, I have come to know of one known MetaStock issue for which, in rare cases, the very useful CUE Global Commentaries may not display.

The issue was not related to CUE Global. For the one user who reported this, the Commentary did not appear for other, non-CUE, expert advisors too.

Upon contacting MetaStock support, it was found to be a known issue.

Depending on whether the Commentary window is docked to the top or bottom or floating, sometimes (in very rare cases) the Commentary may not display.

Apparently, docking it to the left or right it works under those circumstances - as a workaround.

MetaStock is aware of it and may fix the issue in subsequent releases. For the meantime, one may use the workaround mentioned above.

If this happens, you may first try to reset MetaStock to default settings. Please refer to the separate post on that in the FAQ section.

If that does not fix the issue, you may try the following:

1. Close MetaStock.

2. Open Registry Editor in Microsoft Windows.

3. Navigate to the entry shown in the image below and delete the two items named XPos and YPos.

4. Close Registry Editor.

These are the usual settings. Sometimes, depending on user preference one may change these options. Many CUE traders use the options as set up in the snapshots below. These Options windows/tabs are accessible from Metastock menu Tools -> Options.

Not all the tabs shown are applicable to both the Daily Chart and Real-Time versions of Metastock.

The dataLink tab is only applicable to Metastock Daily Chart.

TS - Time Series and Real-Time tabs are applicable to only Metastock Real-Time.
